Laura Davis, OTR/L
I’m so glad you’re here. I love seeing the relief that comes when clients realize they are not alone, and shame turns into understanding. With the right tools and support there is space for everyone to breathe and thrive. If you are in a constant state of feeling you’re behind, or out of sync you’re in the right place.
I was inspired to become an OT by the community of people with and without disabilities at Zeno Mountain Farm. There I experienced the calm of being known and needed exactly as you are, and discovered the growth that is possible in a supportive community.
Since earning my Master’s in OT from USC in 2015, I have supported clients in hospitals, schools, home, and a clinics using evidence-based interventions like DIR Floortime, Ayers Sensory Integration, and Executive Functioning coaching/ADHD professional certification. My training and work as an OT has given me an in depth understanding of the nervous system, mental health, neurodiversity, and accommodations,
My specialization in executive functioning is personal. Despite being told I was "smart," I struggled my whole life with deadlines, social cues, and seemingly simple tasks. After having children, my previous coping mechanisms were no longer enough to hide the inner chaos. I sought my own executive functioning support, which was so transformative that it helped shape my practice going forward.
I am a licensed OT in DC, Maryland, and Virginia and although I am not in network, I can help you submit a super-bill for insurance. If you live in other states, I can work with you through online coaching and our online community.
